Since 2014, over 262 medical colleges have been established in India for promotion of medical science and research among Indian students. Earlier a lot of medical aspirants had to move out of the country to pursue medicine due to lack of seats in government colleges. Seats in private colleges are extremely expensive for students. But since the establishment of these medical colleges, it has become easier for students to stay in the country and practise medicine at affordable tuition fees. This has been a significant contribution by the government of India and has made a lot of progressive changes in the country.
