Canada is a dream destination of a lot of international students. Over the past few years, Canada has become one of the most favourite international destinations for Indian students especially. The number of Indian students going to Canada for higher education has increased exponentially over the past few years. Many people take advantage of this situation to fool students. In a recent case from Jalandhar, India around 700 students were scammed over a fake Canada student visa. Around Rs.1600000 , taken from these students in total in the promise of a visa. Some students even deposited their airfares which are not included.
The fraud came to light after the students applied for permanent residence in Canada. During this process, the government of Canada verifies the documents. It was during this process. The authorities found out that all the documents were fake. No strict action is being taken against the culprits. All the students who want to travel to different countries for higher education must be very careful while choosing their agents. Due to higher demand and study abroad, many fraud agencies are now operating openly and scamming students.
