With the shutting of international flights and sealing of borders, there was a pause on students studying abroad. Due to this the number of students who took education loans for the purpose of studying in the foreign universities were very low from April to December in the year 2022 in Gujarat. According to data the number fell down from 18248 in 2020 from April - December to 16636 in 2021 from April- December. Banks blame this on the newly formed restrictions like isolation and banning of students from several countries etc and are hoping that this year they will be able to revive their past figures and make up for the losses.
