The Prime Minister's Young Achievers Scholarship award for vibrant India will be granted on the basis of school merit this year. Earlier it was decided that the scholarship will be given on the basis of an entrance test which will be conducted by the government. But now it has been decided that no entrance test will be conducted and students will get scholarships on the basis of their marks in class 10th and 12th. The examination for the scholarship was scheduled to be conducted on 29 September 2023. All the candidates who scored more than 60% in class 8th and 10th are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship has been specially introduced for the benefit of economically backward, tribal and other backward students. It will help more than 30,000 students of India whose family income is less than Rs.2,50,000.
