New Education Policy has opened the doors for global univerisities to come in India after years of alienation. The major reason behind this is to improve the soft power of the country through higher education and to welcome new ideas that transform the country. If elite universities like Harvard plan on opening an extension branch in India then it would brimg the realted benefits and challanges with it. It will undoubtedly increase the value of studying in India but will also increase the domestic competition. But the good thing is that the competition is likely to occur between private universities and these foreign universities because of a similar fee structure. Public universities are likely to remain unaffected from this.
