In 2022, more than 13 lakh students from India went to study abroad. Out of all the states in India, the most number of students going to study abroad were from Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. The top preferred countries among Indians to study abroad include the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. 60% of the students who went abroad chose a masters program whereas 33% of students went to study a bachelors degree. Rest of the students went to pursue a vocational degree. Looking at the data, one can easily identify the study abroad trend in India. Students, especially from areas like Punjab, Andhra and Maharashtra are interested in studying abroad. Overall, there has been a tremendous growth in the study abroad culture in India.
