It is great news for a lot of international students who were planning to go to the UK for higher education. The Rishi Sunak government was planning a crackdown on the graduate visa route that allowed students to stay back in the UK after completing their education. This would mean that international students would no longer have the ability to stay back in the UK and search for jobs after completing their education. This meant that the whole point of studying in the UK would mean nothing as students would not even get the opportunity to find a job. However, the proposal has been radically opposed by the opposition due to which the Rishi Sunak government had to take it back. The clampdown on the graduate visa route after introducing so many anti-immigration rules would mean a further decline in the number of students studying in the UK. This news comes as a relief as the Sunak government has decided to take back the proposition as of now.
