The national union of students in the UK has recently started a protest to demand equal working hours for international students. The number of working hours for international students in the UK has been restricted by the government to 20 hours per week. This is negatively affecting 70% of the international students as they are not able to earn enough money to support themselves. The average monthly living cost to study in the UK is £950 and by working 20 hours, the majority of the students are not able to earn the amount.
The NUS has decided to address the issue in two phases. In the first phase, they will protest against the government to increase the number of working hours for international students. In the second phase, the students will look for grants and scholarships that can support international students during their study abroad period.
