Students from Kerala prefer to study in France for international education

posted on: October 17, 2022

Earlier it used to be a trend that most students from India would choose English-speaking countries to study abroad. This trend is slowly changing now. Students are choosing to study in European countries over English-speaking nations. In a recent study conducted in the Southern part of India, it was found that two out of every three students wanted to move out to study abroad. It has also been predicted that this trend will likely exaggerate over the years. In the last 4 to 5 years students migrating from the Kerala state of India have doubled in numbers. As reported by The statistical data from State Level Bankers Conference (SLBC), right now the outstanding education loan in banks of Kerala has gone up to 11,061 crores in March 2022. Earlier the top priority countries for Indian students used to be the UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand for higher studies. Now countries like France and Spain are gaining a lot of popularity among international students. Currently France has 3.6,00,00 international students. The biggest benefit of studying in France is the prestigious universities and their high rankings. They are internationally acclaimed and have Nobel laureates. Another big benefit of studying in France is that you don't have to learn French. Over 1700 programs here are taught in English so language is not a barrier. Additionally, France is much cheaper in terms of university fees as compared to Canada, Australia, the US, and the UK. French universities have also come in partnership with local universities in a lot of countries. This is aimed to attract a lot more students than before.
