The central government recently conducted a scrutiny of the institutes registered under the minority scholarship program in India. These institutions take funds from the central government and disperse them among valid and deserving candidates. During the scrutiny it was found out that 830 out of the total 1572 institutions checked were fake. These institutions are from 21 different states of India.
Most of these institutions were taking funds from the government and not dispersing it among valid candidates. Fake IDs were generated and registered as valid candidates by these institutions and the money was used for personal benefits. Some of these institutions are totally non-existent. All of these were registered on the National Scholarship Portal. A proper enquiry will be set up against these institutions now to give them the opportune punishment.
