The prime minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi has declared that the new education policy will give equal weightage to all the constitutional languages of the country. Every language will be given equal respect and credit in the curriculum. As India is a diverse country and people speak a multitude of languages, the new education policy will focus on imparting education, regardless of the language. The new curriculum will focus more on skill development than language. The government is taking inspiration from European countries where the main motive is high-quality education and not language.
