As a lot of countries including the highly selective ones like the USA and the UK have issued a lot of student visas to international students, students are having a hard time finding accommodations. This problem is very rampant in famous cities like London and New York City where the native population is already a lot. As international students have immigrated in bulk from a lot of countries, there has been an issue related to accommodation.The problem is so severe that some students had to delay their plans of immigrating as they couldn't find a suitable accommodation. The students have decided to join classes from the next semester when accommodation is available. The options that are left for them are extremely expensive and out of budget which is why they have opted to not go for this semester. After the pandemic there has been a 60% rise in the demand for accommodation. With these new demands, it will take the government in the universities some time to arrange for all the students.
