There has been a significant drop in the number of student visa applications from India for the UK. A drop of almost 14.94% has been witnessed. Also, there has been an 80% decline in the number of dependent visas in the last three months as compared to the previous year. Last year more than 43,000 candidates were given a dependent visa on the basis of a family member studying or working in the UK. From this January onwards, a new rule prohibited international students from bringing over family members. Since then there has not just been a decline in the dependant visas but also in the student visa applications. Another country that has shown a significant decline in the number of student visa applications is Nigeria. There has been a 38% decline in the case of Nigeria.
