The United Kingdom raises the minimum income required to call family members

posted on: April 12, 2024

Recently, the UK has introduced several measures to combat the problem of excess immigration in the country. Recently the government of the UK has announced that the minimum income requirement to call a family member or spouse for a person working in the country with the work visa will be increased. Previously a person with an annual income of £18,600 was able to call a family member on a dependent visa. This however has been increased to £29,000 annually. It simply means that any person having an annual income under £29,000 will not be able to call any family member on a dependent visa to the UK. It is expected that by early 2025, the limit will be increased even further. Candidates with an annual income of £38,700 will be able to call family members.
