The United States of America was dramatically affected during the Coronavirus pandemic. Most of the international students who had to come to the USA for higher education could not come. There were two years of total border restrictions that prevented any travel from one country to another. In 2021, there was a 15% decrease in the number of international students going to the US for higher education. for the academy care of 2021 to 2022, the decline shifted to 7%. The reason for this improvement was the relaxation of visa norms and travel being more accessible.
International students from countries like Bangladesh, India, Nepal and China are slowly coming back to the USA, especially for STEM courses. STEM programmes remain the most popular courses among South Asian students. This is followed by management degrees.
