The US embassy has offered more than 1,40,000 student visas to Indian students in 2023. International students studying in the US put $38 billion into the US economy annually. The number of student visas issued to Indian students in 2023 has been the highest ever. The US has so far issued six lakhs student visas to international students that has been the highest since 2017. During the main Visa season that is from June to August, more than 92,000 student visas were offered to Indian students by the US Consulate.
As per a report by the open doors report, India has officially surpassed the US to become the largest section of international students in the US since 2009-10.
