Things you need to know about Australia's ban on Indian students from some particular states

Recently, Australia banned five Indian states from applying to Australian universities. The ban created a controversy among Indian students. The states that have been banned include Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Here is what you need to know about the ban.

  1. Not all Australian universities have banned Indian students from these particular states. Only the following universities will not accept applications from the students coming from these Indian states.

  • Victoria University
  • University of Wollongong (UOW)
  • Torrens University
  • Edith Cowan University (ECU)
  • agents working for Southern Cross University.
  1. The decision has been taken by these universities because of the amount of fraud applications that they receive from these Indian states. The universities end up rejecting around 94% of the total application.
  2. To make the application process easier and take less time in sorting out applications, these universities have taken the decision.
  3. The applications that have proper documents in high-quality and are backed by their agents will be considered by these universities.
