Thirteen WSU students have been awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship which will help them to study abroad. The Gilman scholarship is federally funded and is considered the best study abroad scholarship. It just doesn't make your resume remarkable but also opens thousands of opportunities on a higher education level just like Fullbright and Rhodes scholarships. The scholarship also comes with a job opportunity for 12 months in the federal government. Students who have received this scholarship are Zoe Alamillo, Psychology (Sociology minor), Italy; Jesus Avina, Sociology (Human Development minor), Spain and Portugal; Makayla Daniels, International Business (Japanese minor), Japan; Emily Dickson, Pre-Pharmacy (Psychology minor), Spain; Milo Edwards, Women’s, Gender, Sexuality Studies (Queer Studies minor), Italy; Citlaly Gomez-Ledezma, Criminal Justice, Italy; Claudia Jacobo, Japanese (Business Administration and Digital Technology and Culture, minors), Japan; Grace Kruschke, Human Development, Spain; Johan Luna, Biology and Pre-Dentistry, Spain and Portugal; Micah MacDonald, Economic Sciences, Austria; Cinthia Mendoza, Family Studies, Spain; Viviana Murillo Rangel, Accounting (Finance minor), Spain and Portugal; and Martin Navarrete-Contreras, Construction Management (Business Administration minor).
