Thousands of teachers in Assam are protesting against the BJP government in order to get their long standing demands fulfilled out of which regularization of their jobs is the biggest. In Assam 41000 teachers are working in elementary schools and lower primary schools. These teachers passed their Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET) and joined their jobs but haven’t been qualified even now. Thousands of teachers across Assam gathered together at the Veterinary College ground in Guwahati. The security officials locked the gate from outside preventing them to rally towards Dispur. Primary Teachers have been facing a lot of humiliation and disrespect in their fight. Without regularization there is always a fear of losing their jobs as the number of job applicants and the competition keeps on increasing exponentially.
