UGC forms rules for the establishment of foreign universities in India

The higher education regulatory of India has formed a committee to finalise the rules for the establishment of foreign universities in India. UGC is not only looking forward to open global universities in the campus of Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) but also in the mainland. They are currently working on preparing the regulations and the deliberations are in the final stage. They have already been approached by a lot of foreign universities which will make the pedagogy more inclusive and international.  During her budget speech in February the finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitaraman said that the universities opening in GIFT will not have to comply with the domestic rules.
