Recently, the UGC has released the latest guidelines related to the admission of foreign students in Indian higher education institutes. As per UGC, all Indian institutes can generate a maximum number of 25% extra seats for international students. Also, the seats cannot include students coming under the student exchange programmes or any kind of collaboration with the institute with any other foreign university. In case the seats remain unoccupied, they shouldn't be filled with any other student and should remain vacant. The institutes have to take care of the exact guidelines released by the UGC while generating these seats. The allocation of the seats in technical institutes will be regulated by the respective bodies responsible for the counselling.
