As the new session of admissions is about to begin the University grants commission has announced that online degrees would be considered parallel to the degrees that are obtained through the conventional mode of education which is being in the class in person. The only condition is that these degrees should be in conformity with the UGC. This is a groundbreaking decision as now students don't have to spend a huge amount of money in order to travel and accommodate themselves nearby the university from which they want to graduate from. Now a student can stay at home and pursue their education through online mode without worrying about the worth of the degree. In order to check whether your degree is in conformity with the UGC, you can go to their website and see the list of universities and courses that they recognize. The decision has been taken as per Regulation 22 of the UGC (Open and Distance learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations.
