The University grants commission has decided to set a special panel for SC and ST students. The panel will look after the safeguarding of the students in universities and to prevent any kind of discrimination. This landmark decision has been taken after the Supreme Court called out the killings of marginalised communities as insensitive. This panel will also look out after the implementation of policies meant for SC, ST and OBC students.
Panels like these promote equality and solidarity in universities. Bullying and discrimination is already a very big issue in universities. The panel will help in making students understand the importance of harmony and being sensitive towards each other.
