Back in 2020 Vietnam was ranked 64th in global education rankings out of the total 73 countries that participated. The top 10 countries in 2021 werethe United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The ranks are based on the assessment of the type of education system that has been developed and the country's capabily to offer quality education. Last month in the Impact Rankings 2022 released by Times Higher Education Group, Vietnam was also listed. In 2020, only 2 Vietnamese institutes featured in the list but this year the number has doubled. Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), Ton Duc Thang University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) are in the group of 601-800 while Phenikaa University is among 801-1,000.
