Ways to look after your mental health as an international student

It is likely that staying away from your family and your home makes you feel lonely. The change and culture and social isolation can lead to the feeling of depression. As an international student you have to learn to be happy by yourself as you cannot rely on other people for your happiness. Here are the ways through which you can look after your mental health and be happy from the inside-

  1. Try to stay on your campus as much as you can. Campuses are a place with a lot of hustle and bustle and you will get to meet new people on a daily basis. Chances are high that you will find friends that you will get along with. 
  2. Try to join as many clubs and organisations as you can.
  3. Try to stay active in class and become part of all the class activities. This will help you in getting connected to your classmates as well as your professors.
  4. Always stay in touch with your family and your friends back home. Try to call them as much as you can and always be involved even if you are in a different country.
