The government of West Bengal has decided to adopt the four year undergraduate policy under the new education policy. Now students will have to spend at least four years to complete their undergraduate degree in any field. After giving four years to their degree, they will be able to graduate with an honours degree. Giving three years to the degree will get them a simple bachelors degree without any specialisation. The student can decide to walk out of the degree in two years by getting a diploma. This is a part of the new education policy. The decision has been taken to keep the standards of the Indian education system in alignment with the global education system.
