In 2002, more than 13 lakh Indian students went to study abroad as per the data given by the Ministry of external affairs. The students went to 79 various countries for higher education. Some of the most popular countries among Indian students were the USA, the UK, UAE, Australia and Ireland.
Looking at the choices of Indian students, we have understood that Indian students give weightage to some specific factors while choosing the country to study abroad. In 2022, more than four lakh students from India have gone to the US for higher education. Most of the students have chosen data sciences or courses in the field of technology. 55,000 students from India went to the UK for higher education. Canada has become a popular option among Indian students because one is able to get a student visa very easily and also higher education is quite affordable.
