What is UNESCO’s response to Ukraine’s children's education needs?

posted on: March 29, 2022

As a consequence of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine Crisis, more than 4 million people have left Ukraine and taken shelter somewhere else. Out of the 4 million people, 2 million are children. According to the local authorities, 733 educational bodies were destroyed. In a recent press interview, UNESCO said that schools and education not only offers to learn to students but also acts as a shield for them during time of crisis. UNESCO will be offering support for learning through its Global Education Coalition. Since the war broke out, EU countries have also been extending support to refugees from Ukraine. UNESCO will also be analyzing this support.
