What PSAT score is considered good?

posted on: May 09, 2022

Although many universities have made the PSATs and SATs non-compulsory it doesn't mean that their importance can be overlooked. PSAT stands for Preliminary SAT. It acts as a practice test for your main SAT and helps you in understanding the structure of the test. It also helps in figuring out whether SATs are beneficial for you or the ACT. The test cannot be cleared on a cramming basis as it is more of an objective test and it is also very beneficial for college scholarships and advanced placement courses. Students have the opportunity to appear for PSAT once in a year from class 8th to class 11th. The tests that class 8th and 9th students appear for is called the PSAT 8/9.  The other two tests are PSAT10 and the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test but only juniors are eligible for score-related college scholarships as part of the PSAT/NMSQT. The test is divided into three sections: reading, writing and language, and math.
