Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) which is an US based education firm very renowned for its annual rankings of universities and colleges across different fields and in different categories has pretty much become an important criteria in deciding one's university.The rankings are made in 51 subjects, five composite faculty areas and five independent and five independent regional tables, namely Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia, the Arab Region, and BRICS. The QS team consists of trained personnel that consider a variety of parameters while ranking these universities. Over the years QS has increased its credibility, so much that now it is almost a deciding agent at the time of University selection. It considers factors such as placements, student teacher ratios, infrastructure, ROI etc while assessing ranks.
