Why is the US a popular study abroad destination among Indian students?

It's safe to say that the trend of studying abroad was first started in the United States of America. Even decades ago people had a dream of studying in the United States of America and settling there for the quality of life that it offers. Generations and decades have changed but the dream remains constant. The USA still comes on the list of the top study abroad options for students across the world. Indian students are also thoroughly interested in going to the United States of America. They make up 18% of the total international students in the USA. One of the major reasons why it is so popular among Indian students is the number of work opportunities that it beholds. Students have an opportunity for extensive career growth in the STEM field. Good salaries and a comfortable lifestyle with some added perks make it a very likable destination. The optional practical training program helps students to look for work and internships while studying. It is especially beneficial for STEM students because they can stay back in the USA for 36 months and work there. For non-STEM graduates, the extension is two years.
