Your visa conditions will allow you to work up to 20 hours a week if you are doing a full-time course that:
is at least 2 academic years in duration, or
is at least 1 academic year in duration and part of an approved tertiary student exchange scheme, or
results in a New Zealand qualification which gains points under the Skilled Migrant Category.
If you are enrolled in Masters by research or doctoral degree programme awarded by a New Zealand tertiary institution, your visa conditions will not have any restrictions on the hours you can work.
Q. How much can I earn through part time jobs while studying in NMIT?
You will be paid at least the minimum wage of NZ$18.90 an hour, though you may earn more than this. You will also be paid for annual and public holidays, and for rest breaks.
