University of Mumbai History
University of Mumbai is located in the beautiful city of Mumbai, Maharashtra India. It is a non-profit public research University established in the year 1857. It is one of the prominent Universities in India providing education beyond excellence. It was founded under the British rule in India with merely a hundred of students. Slowly and gradually the no of students and campuses increased and the University emerged as one of the leading Universities. It is known for its programs in business management.
University of Mumbai Programs, Courses and Schools
University of Mumbai comprises of schools, 711 colleges, innumerable faculties and several department and centres. The University offers wide range of programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Various programs taught at the University include Education, Literature, Business Management, Fine Arts, Forestry, International Business, Geology, Sports, Computer Science, Actuarial Sciences, Public Administration, Media, Nanotechnology, Mural Studies, History, Political Science. Communication, Journalism, Food and Health Sciences, Physics and many more. 
The university caters national research centres for Nanotechnology. The University also has three major centres for advanced studies of Bio Physics, Botany and Mathematics. The University is affiliated to UGC, NAAC and AIU. It owes more than hundred Research centres.

University of Mumbai owes four beautiful campuses namely Kalina Campus, Thane Campus, Kalyan Campus and Fort Campus. The campuses are spread across hectares and represents gothic architecture. Several facilities for the students are there like Town Hall, Convocation Centres, Medicine shops, Cafeteria, Restaurants, Sports complex, audio visual room, for the students. 

The library of the University is fully furnished and digitalised. The library is honoured as UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is loaded with e-books, e-journals, manuscripts, reference books, subscriptions, journals, books and papers.
