201 schools are included in the architecture subject-wise rankings, 38 of which are based in the United States, and 12 of which are ranked in the top 50 worldwide – the most in any one nation. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA, 15th) and Cornell University are also among the nation's best universities, in addition to the 10 already mentioned (28th place).

Moving north, the subject-specific rankings for architecture include eight Canadian universities. The University of British Columbia ranks 32nd in the world in terms of research citations per publication and H index, while not making the top 10. Also in Canada's top 50 are the University of Toronto (equal 38th place) and McGill University.

One-hundred and nineteen of the world's best architecture schools are located here, including three that are listed as world-class in the QS World University Rankings (by subject). Sheffield University (in 23rd position) and Cardiff University (in 10th place) have dropped out of the top 10. (Thirty-eighth position). Research citations per publication put University College Dublin (UCD) between 101 and 150 this year.

Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, which scored 151-200, is the sole French participation this year. Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid both rank in the top 40 this year, at position 21 and 35, respectively, with five ranked universities in Spain.

Seven German universities, including Technische Universität Berlin (24th) and Technische Universität München (57th), appear in the QS World University Rankings for Architecture this year (26th place).

Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, two of Italy's top 50 architectural schools, are both ranked in the top eight (33rd). In the top 10 of the world's universities, both of Switzerland's universities are located.

On to the Netherlands, where five newcomers to the architecture topic list have made it into the top ten, with Delft University of Technology and Eindhoven University of Technology both making the top fifty. The Royal Institute of Technology (ranked 20th) and Chalmers University of Technology are both located in Sweden, which has four of the world's best architecture schools (37th place). The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (51-100) and the Oslo School of Architecture are two of the greatest architectural schools in the world (151-200).

Among the four entrants from Belgium, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven ranks 45th, while Portugal has three top architectural universities, including the Universities of Lisbon and Porto, both of which rank 51-100. Both Technische Universität Wien and Technische Universität Graz are listed among the world's top 150 universities. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, the single representative from Lithuania, is ranked 101-150 this year.

For the first time in the competition's history, Russia's Lomonosov Moscow State University is participating.

Twelve Chinese colleges made the list of the world's best architectural schools this year. This year's top three universities in China are Tsinghua (11) and Tongji (18) (jointly 18th), as well as Shanghai Jiao Tong University (47th).

This year, Singapore's sole participant, the National University of Singapore (NUS), drops four spots to 12th place. The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology ranks 101-150 this year, as does Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University, which likewise remains in the 101-150 range.

The University of Tokyo (16th) and Kyoto University are two of the country's nine subject-rated universities (48th). With eight entrants, South Korea did well this year as well, with Seoul National University (SNU) taking 31st place.

In this year's architectural topic rankings, Turkey, Thailand, and Indonesia each have two entries. India boasts three of the world's best architecture schools, whereas Malaysia has five, three of which are in the top 100.

University of Hong Kong (HKU, 14th rank) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University are two of four important research universities in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) (22nd).

Australia has four schools in the topic rankings for architecture, with the University of Melbourne (17th), the University of Sydney (18th), RMIT University (25th), and UNSW (27th) all making appearances this year.

The University of Auckland (ranked 51-100) and Victoria University of Wellington (ranked 101-150) are the two newcomers from New Zealand in this year's list.

Top Architecture Universities in Latin America

Latin America has 11 institutions in the world's top 100 in architectural rankings.

Two universities from Chile and Columbia made this year's rankings for architecture: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile came in at number 36, while Universidad Nacional de Colombia came in at number 51-100.

Mexico's Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), one of its two universities, is ranked 49th in the world in terms of employer reputation. Universidad de Buenos Aires is the only architecture school in Argentina to be included in this year's rankings, which ranges from 51-100.

Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), which rose one place to 43rd in the world, is one of four newcomers in this year's rankings.

Only the University of Cape Town represents South Africa in the topic ratings for architecture, coming in at positions 51-100.

This year, Cairo University and the American University in Cairo, both placed 151-200 worldwide, represent Egypt in the rankings.
