A degree in architecture is a popular and demanding choice since it combines all three hemispheres of the brain and provides a wide range of exciting and financially lucrative career options for graduates. Acquiring integrated skills and experience is essential to this interdisciplinary field, which requires an understanding of mathematics and engineering as well as knowledge of current technological trends and societal concerns in order to be successful.

What is Architecture?

Architecture is the art and science of designing and building large-scale structures. Candidates for architectural programs should be passionate in math and sciences as well as the arts, as these are important factors for admission.

Due to the importance of safety and reliability in modern architecture, students must be prepared to spend a significant amount of time in training before becoming fully certified architects. Even though the requirements for obtaining an architect's license differ from state to state, you can expect to need to have a bachelor's or master's degree and at least two years of professional work experience.

Many people assert that architects are responsible for designing and building structures. On the other side, architecture jobs tend to have a lot more variety in their work. In a small to medium-sized firm, an architect will spend most of his or her time planning, budgeting, maintaining financial records, interacting with vendors, monitoring compliance with safety regulations on site, and providing specifications for building activities.

What can you expect from an architecture degree?

Students pursuing an architecture degree at the undergraduate level will learn everything from how a beam works to how to precisely develop 3D plans both by hand and with computer software. Most of your classes will be in a studio for creative work, with some lectures and critique courses thrown in. During critique sessions, often known as crits in the art and design world, a student presents his or her work to teachers and fellow students for feedback.

Computer-assisted design (CAD) workshops are held for architecture students to help them become proficient in various design applications so they can complete specific projects. Students in these workshops also study history, theory, and technology. As part of a degree in architecture, students are also expected to write papers and make regular trips to significant architectural landmarks.

Depending on the program, undergraduate architecture students might expect to get a BA or B.Sc. degree in three to four years. ARB/RIBA (Architects Registration Board/Royal Institute of British Architects) Part 1 examinations are necessary before taking Part 2 and Part 3 tests, which are occasionally included in a Master of Architecture degree in the United Kingdom. ARB/RIBA trainee architects must satisfy these formal standards in conjunction with real-world experience to be eligible for certification.

A B.Arch. or Dip.Arch. certificate will be issued to you as a licensed architect once you have completed all of the necessary stages in your native country.
