The national overseas scholarship allows 125 students belonging to the scheduled caste, the notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic, tribes, landless agricultural laborers and traditional artisans category to pursue masters or PhD degree courses abroad.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the candidate must have scored at least 60% marks in their qualifying exams. In case of a PhD, their qualifying degree will be the master's degree. In case of masters, their qualifying degree will be their bachelors degree. The maximum age, during the time of registration should be not more than 35. The annual income of the family should be less than Rs.8,00,00 per annum.
