Polímero para cementos dentales de ionómero de vidrio

A novel ionomer-glass cement incorporating acrylic and sorbic acid, modified with itaconic acid or N-vinylpyrrolidone. This invention provides a safer, biocompatible alternative to traditional amalgam-based dental fillings, offering enhanced mechanical resistance. Designed by Prof. Sandra Patricia Romero Nieto and a research team, it earned a patent via Colombia’s Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (Resolution No. 36055, June 29, 2023) .

A mechanical device designed by the SIGAE research group in collaboration with GIATME and the engineering faculty. It enables easy external adjustment of spark timing in internal combustion engines—particularly useful for low-capacity generator engines—allowing the use of alternative fuels. It aims to support off-grid communities and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to Colombia’s carbon-neutral goals .
