Grishin's birthday is June 26, 1978. He earned a degree in Technology and Automation of Mechanical Engineering from Moscow State Technological University. He started his sports journalist career in 2002 as a correspondent for "Football Affairs" on the 7TV channel. He was employed by Sport channel (Russia-2) from 2004 to 2015 and Match TV until 2018. He provided commentary on competitions on Channel One from 2018 till his passing.
