The reasons why you shouldn't work full time while studying abroad

Posted on: December 17, 2022

After the pandemic, a lot of countries like Canada and Australia increased the number of hours students could work part-time. Australia in fact removed any barriers on part-time workers and students were allowed to work for as many hours as they wanted to. This was done to attract more international students and give them desirable facilities. By working for an unlimited number of hours they could earn more money to support themselves. Before the pandemic, on an average, a country allowed students to work for only 20 hours a week while the classes were going on.

But at the same time students were also expected to maintain particular grades in their universities in order to continue with their studies in the university. Also working part-time would not help them in getting a full-time work visa. In fact they might end up losing their permission to work on-campus in the university.

If a student works for more than 20 hours a week, it becomes really difficult for him or her to balance their studies. This can largely impact their course and the whole purpose of coming to a different country for studying will go in vain. This is why a student must maintain a healthy balance between working in studying. Prioritise your studies first and rest can follow.

Why Indian students are moving to lesser-known countries to pursue MBBS degree

Posted on: December 16, 2022

From the last five years, around 60% of the students who want to pursue a degree in medicine have been moving to different countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, China and Russia for their higher education. After the Russian Ukraine war, medical students from Russia were forced to return back to their countries. As a result, all the returning Indian students Had nowhere to go in order to complete their education.

As a result, the government of India announced that all the medical colleges in India must accommodate the students. From the past one decade a lot of students from India had been moving out to lesser-known countries to pursue their medical degrees. The reason behind this outflow of medical students from India is the lack of medical seats in India. There are very few government medical colleges in India that are not enough to accommodate all the medical aspirants.

The private colleges have very high tuition fees which can go up to 1,00,00,000 per annum. This is something that not everyone can afford. On the other hand, less known countries like Nepal and Bangladesh offer medical degrees at cheaper prices. Countries like Russia and Ukraine also had the facility of cheap medical degrees. This is the reason why most of the Indian students who are not able to get a good rank in NEET end up going to other countries.

Are your high school class ranks important for your college selection

Posted on: December 14, 2022

Many students pay a lot of attention towards their SATs and GPS. There is a common belief that if you are a top ranker in your class during high school, your chances of getting selected in your dream university are higher than the rest of the students. Well, this is not an entirely true statement to make. Colleges now no longer can pay importance towards just the academic part of a student's application.

They select students based on a holistic perspective after reviewing their personality and achievements in totality. This means that your extra curricular achievements, your volunteer work and your participation in summer programmes or similar activities will also be counted. Of Course having a good class rank will add on to your application but this doesn't mean that you have a higher chance of getting selected in the university of your dreams than a student who has not topped his class.
