Established in August 2011, City University College of Ajman received its license from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) at that time. It was elevated to full university status in October 2022. In July 2024, the institution earned a prestigious 5‑Star rating from the QS Stars system.
