University of Idaho History
The University of Idaho is a public research university which is located in Moscow, Idaho, USA. It is Idaho's land-grant and principal research institution, as well as the director of the Idaho Space Grant Consortium. For 71 years, until 1963, the University of Idaho was the only university in the state. In 1909 University of Idaho's College of Law was founded and for the very first time in 1925 American Bar Association approved the institution.
Governor Edward Stevenson of the Idaho Territory signed Council Bill No. 20 of the territorial legislature on January 30, 1889, establishing the University of Idaho as the new state's land-grant university. On October 3, 1892, nearly four years after it was founded, the institution began classes. Gov. Stevenson awarded the University of Idaho an "Olive Branch of Peace '' for his efforts in stymying the nearly successful attempt to remove the north Idaho Panhandle and join the state of Washington.

University of Idaho Campuses
The University of Idaho's main campus is in Moscow, Idaho, USA, and the University of Idaho also has four other campuses in Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Twin Falls Research & Extension Center, and Idaho Falls. The Moscow campus, which abuts the Washington state line, is 1,585 acres (2.5 sq mi; 6.4 km2) in size, with 253 buildings at $812 million in replacement value, according to the University of Idaho Facts Books. There are 49 acres (20 ha) of parking lots, 1.2 miles (2 km) of bike lanes, 22 computer laboratories, a 150-acre (61 ha) golf course, 80 acres (32 ha) of arboreta, and 860 acres (1.3 sq mi; 3.5 km2) of farmland.

The University of Idaho Library has expanded from a single classroom in the University Administration Building in 1892 to become Idaho's largest library, storing over a million books and subscribing to nearly ten thousand print and online publications. For almost a century, the library has also functioned as an official regional storehouse of US federal government publications, making nearly two million records available to the public.

University of Idaho Housing services
The University of Idaho provides various options for on-campus housing services for its students. Four residence halls (Wallace Residence Center, Theophilus Tower, McConnell Hall, and Living Learning Communities) are available to students, as well as apartments (South Hill Apartments, South Hill Vista Apartments, and Elmwood Apartments) for non-traditional students or those who require special accommodations. Single parents, married couples (with or without children), law students, and students over 21 years old are usually the only ones who can get an apartment. Only first-year students have access to Theophilus Tower, three of the four Wallace Residence wings, and one LLC building. There is summer housing available, although it is limited.

On the Moscow campus, the University of Idaho partners with Gritman Moscow Family Medicine to provide a full variety of healthcare services. All students and their dependents, as well as teachers and staff, have access to primary care and referral services, which include anything from wellness screenings to sickness diagnosis and treatment. The Clinic is staffed by board-certified physicians, physician assistants, and registered nurses from Gritman Moscow Family Medicine. The 85,000-square-foot (7,900 m2)University of Idaho’s Student Recreation Center, designed by NAC Architecture and built in 2002, features a 55-foot (17 m) freestanding climbing wall, as well as a weight training area, cardio, 6,000 square feet (557 m2) of climbing area, running track, and two full-size gyms. The Recreation Center's hours are designed to accommodate the needs of its users, which include students, educators, and staff.
