Common Application or Coalition Application

Start by completing either the Common Application or the Coalition Application. Whitman College accepts both platforms. Choose the one that suits you best and fill out the required sections. 

2. High School Transcript

Request your official high school transcript to be sent directly from your school to Whitman College. This document provides a record of your coursework and academic performance. 

3. Letters of Recommendation

Submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your academic abilities and character. These are typically from teachers or school counselors.

4. Personal Essay

Write a personal essay that reflects your experiences, values, and aspirations. This is an opportunity to showcase who you are beyond your grades and test scores. 

5. Standardized Test Scores (Optional)

Whitman College has a test-optional policy. You may choose to submit your SAT or ACT scores if you believe they enhance your application. If you do submit scores, Whitman will consider the highest section scores across all test dates.

6. Application Fee or Fee Waiver

There is a $60 application fee. However, if you apply by December 1, the fee is waived. Additionally, fee waivers are available for eligible students.
