Know moreLakeland College is known for its experiential learning approach, allowing students to gain real-world skills. This hands-on model originated from its agricultural roots and continues across various programs today.
Founded on November 17, 1913, Lakeland College was Alberta’s third post-secondary institution. Originally the Vermilion School of Agriculture, it has grown into a leading educational institution.
The Vermilion Board of Trade played a crucial role in advocating for an agricultural school. Their efforts led to Vermilion being chosen as a demonstration farm in 1911 and later as one of Alberta’s three agricultural schools.
