The counseling department at Parsons School of Design provides health and wellness services. Counseling Services provides students with confidential support in a variety of ways. Whatever students think, feel, or experience will be accepted, and counselors will recognize the influence of culture and identity on students' experiences. Counselors will listen to students, discuss their goals, and assist them in finding solutions to personal problems.


Part-time employment is allowed for Parsons School of Design students. Many work-study positions are advertised by campus offices on Handshake, the Career Center's online job posting site. Upload an updated, college-level resume to your Handshake profile to apply for open positions; once reviewed, you will receive constructive feedback or an approval notice. In addition to a social security number, some international students may require additional work authorization.

Academic Qualifications:
Completion of high school (secondary education) or equivalent qualification.
Strong academic record, particularly in art, design, or related subjects.

Portfolio of creative work (required for most design programs).
Essay or personal statement expressing motivation, goals, and interest in Parsons.
Letter(s) of recommendation — usually one or two from teachers or mentors.
