Suez Canal University Corporate Partnership

  • Kuwait Energy : In December 2014, SCU teamed up with Kuwait Energy through its Society of Petroleum Engineers chapter to launch an immersive educational partnership. Students from the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering participated in intensive 72‑hour hands-on training camps at Kuwait Energy oil and gas fields in Egypt. They gained practical exposure to hydraulic fracturing, beam pumping, extraction operations, and equipment systems, complemented by technical seminars. The arrangement also included summer internships at Kuwait Energy. This longstanding collaboration bolstered students’ industry readiness, deepening their skills and bridging the academic-to-workplace transition in a critical economic sector
  • Society of Petroleum Engineers : The SPE‑SCU Student Chapter, reactivated in 2009, has been integral to SCU’s outreach to the oil and gas industry. It organizes monthly expert-led technical meetings covering SmartWell® completion tech and other advanced operations. The chapter’s "Training for All" program has secured around 60 annual internships with firms like Schlumberger, Weatherford, ECHEM, and Sino Tharwa. Complementary events such as well-cementing workshops and charity days also enrich student experience. Through these industry connections, SCU students access current technical knowledge, mentorship, and professional networks essential for launching careers in the energy sector
  • FamSun : In December 2022, the Confucius Institute took SCU Chinese language students on an industry field visit to FamSun in Ain Sukhna—a major Chinese agritech and feed-equipment manufacturing plant. This initiative was designed to expose students to real-world operations in agricultural technology and Chinese-Egyptian industrial collaboration. It exemplifies SCU’s emphasis on combining linguistic education with practical exposure. Participants gained insights into grain storage and aquafeed production processes, enhancing their understanding of bilingual workplaces and job opportunities within Sino-Egyptian enterprises operating locally
  • Beijing University of Information Technology : In May 2024, SCU’s Egyptian–Chinese College of Applied Technology signed an academic collaboration with Beijing University of Information Technology centered on artificial intelligence. The agreement included joint curriculum design, three‑month annual practical training placements in China, and research exchanges. It builds on SCU’s role as a founding member of the International Alliance for Vocational Education. The partnership aims to elevate Canal region development and Sinai growth by enhancing SCU’s educational quality and positioning graduates at the cutting edge of global AI research and vocational practice
  • Egyptian Space Agency : In February 2021, SCU’s Faculty of Engineering partnered with the Egyptian Space Agency to acquire an educational nanosatellite model. This collaboration supports telecom, remote sensing, and space science training for engineering students. Under the national university satellite lab initiative, SCU benefits from hands-on access to satellite design, programming, deployment, and data analysis. The partnership is part of a broader EgSA plan to launch 35 educational cubesats, aiming to develop future engineers and space scientists across Egypt. SCU’s involvement with EgSA positions it as a key contributor to the country’s nascent space program
  • Chinese Yu Xiu University of Foreign Studies : In December 2023, SCU signed an MOU with Yu Xiu University in Zhejiang Province, China, to boost academic and cultural exchanges. Objectives include faculty and student mobility, research collaboration, short-term special programs, and joint participation in seminars. Starting with an inaugural group of 20 Chinese students spending a full semester studying Arabic in Egypt, the partnership enriches linguistic and cross-cultural capacities. It reinforces SCU’s role in international education diplomacy, fostering sustained Sino-Egyptian academic cooperation across humanities, language, and pedagogical fields
