The below information is required while
completing the university application :
1. Academic Requirements
Completion of secondary school education (equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma).
Strong academic performance in subjects such as mathematics, science, and English.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (varies by program).
Specific prerequisite courses may be required for certain programs.
2. English Proficiency Requirements
International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following standardized tests:
TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 80 (some programs may require higher).
IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5.
Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 105.
SAT (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing): Score of 620 or above can also fulfill the requirement.
Exemptions may be available for students from English-speaking countries or those who have studied in an English-medium school.
3. Standardized Test Scores (Optional)
SAT or ACT: UMass Amherst is test-optional, meaning students do not need to submit SAT or ACT scores. However, submitting high scores can strengthen an application.
