Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at University of Sarajevo

The below information is required while
completing the university application :

1. Academic Qualifications

Secondary School Diploma: Equivalent to Bosnia’s 4-year Svjedodžba o Maturi (high school diploma).

Validation: Requires nostrification (recognition) by the Bosnian Ministry of Education or the university.

Country-Specific Rules: EU diplomas may qualify for fast-track validation; non-EU diplomas need apostille/legalization.

2. Language Proficiency

Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (B2): Required for most programs (tested via university exam or certified courses).

Exceptions: Select English-taught programs (e.g., Erasmus+) may accept IELTS 6.0+/TOEFL 70+.

3. Visa & Documentation

Student Visa (D-Type): Apply at a Bosnian embassy with:

Legalized diploma + transcript.

Passport (valid 6+ months).

Proof of funds (~€200/month).

Health insurance (~€20/month).

Residence Permit: Obtain within 15 days of arrival.

4. Application Process
