Applicants to ADU’s undergraduate programs (including at the Dubai campus) must fulfill the following prerequisites:
Required Documents:
Completed online application form
Passport Copy (and residence visa if applicable)
Emirates ID (for UAE residents)
Equivalency Letter from the UAE Ministry of Education, if applying with a foreign or private curriculum
High School/Secondary School Transcript (certified)
Passport-sized photograph with white background
Police Clearance Certificate issued in the UAE
Certificate of Good Conduct from the high school (for private school graduates)
English Language Proficiency:
Applicants must meet one of these benchmarks (assuming programs are taught in English):
IELTS Academic: Minimum band score of 5.0
English EmSAT: Minimum 1100
TOEFL iBT: Minimum 61
TOEFL ITP (AmidEast only): Minimum 500
Other equivalents: Cambridge (154–161), IESOL/SESOL (B1/B2), Pearson PTE (36–41)
Additional Notes:
Some programs may require EmSAT subject tests
Eligible students may proceed with conditional applications even if equivalency is pending, by signing a Student Commitment Letter
ADU also administers English and Mathematics Placement Tests (EPT & MPT) during the University College year to assess and place students in appropriate language or math support courses.
