In addition to university dorms, many students in Akita City choose to live in private apartments or boarding houses near campus. Typical rent for a basic one‑room apartment with a sink, bath, and toilet starts at around ¥30,000–¥40,000 per month (excluding utilities), while boarding houses with meals included.
