Founded in 2004 under the guidance of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, AAU welcomed its inaugural student cohort in 2005 and established a second campus in Abu Dhabi in 2008. Today, it operates as a licensed private university with campuses in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.

Applicants to graduate programs must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, duly recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
