There are several male-only and female-only colleges at AQU. These include the College of the Holy Quran, the College of Islamic Studies and Sharia, the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Economics and Management, and the College of Communication. Each college has twelve faculty offices, seventeen lecture halls, and the dean's and associate dean's offices.

The three-story Administrative Building, which is 6692 square meters in size, houses 80 offices for the university's administrative staff in addition to the offices of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and Deans. In addition, it has two Sharjah Cooperative Society branches, computer laboratories, self-study spaces, meeting rooms, the Drawing Hall, dining and rest places, stationery stores, and prayer rooms in addition to 24 lecture halls.
